Oil Spill And AT-1 Killer Whales
Exactly 20 years before, a largest oil spill in U.S. History at Southern Alaska gave a terrific shook to the animals lived in the water. Around 11 million gallons of crude oil from the tanker Exxon Valdez was dropped into the freezing water by a ship in Prince William Sound. Now, even after 20 years the area is still in the recovery stage. AT-1, one of the groups of killer whales swimming in the area during the spill has lost 9 Whales. Another orcas group has reached the obsolescence. The scientists forecasted that there will be a recovery in the AT-1 numbers, but ironically, the toxic substances of the oil spill prevents reproduction.
